Tony Estrada: xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (5/10)

It’s better than the second film but that doesn’t excuse this film for lacking the fun that the original film had. The action sequences are well-filmed for the most part with some impressive choreography particularly with Donnie Yen and I did laugh sometimes with how over-the-top it got. What takes away the fun in this third installment is just how serious the storyline took itself which is something a xXx film shouldn’t be doing. Everyone in the cast were either good or fine with Toni Collette being surprisingly god awful in this feature. I didn’t hate The Return of Xander Cage like I did with State of the Union but it’s nowhere near as self-aware as the original xXx film at the same time which is a damn shame.

Mark Krawczyk: xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (7.75/10)

Who would of thought they would make another xXx film. But they did and man did they have fun doing it and I had fun watching it. They made a better Suicide Squad movie than the actual Suicide Squad movie. It has the same High Octane energy as the first one better-executed action scenes. This is largely in part of the new cast of characters we are introduced to. I could watch Donnie Yen fight all day along with Tony Jaa. Ruby Rose’s character was bad ass. I wish they would have not spoiled the one cameo in the trailer. I think it would have added a little extra pop to their appearance in the picture. This is a turn your mind off , sit back and enjoy the craziness type of film. Is it great cinema, no, is it fun cinema Hell Yes!

Zachary Marsh: xXx: The Return of Xander Cage  (8/10)

This movie is the equivalent of a studio daring filmmakers to make every scene in the movie more ridiculously insane and over-the-top than the previous one. I was laughing so much throughout and was having the best time watching it. It’s as stupid as stupid comes, but if you turn your brain off and try not to expect anything substantial from this, then I guarantee you’ll have a fun time watching the return of Xander Cage.
