Patriots Day is the third film in Peter Berg’s “based on actual events” trilogy and is truly inspirational. The film is an inside look at the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath. Directed and co-written by Peter Berg, Patriots Day is generating quite a lot of buzz with several major critics praising it as one of the year’s best films. The all-star cast which includes Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, J.K. Simmons, Alex Wolff, Melissa Benoist, and Michelle Monaghan all handle the material with such love and care making it one of the most respectful films ever to be based on actual events.
