In an update to stories seen here on We Live Film, we bring you the latest in casting notes:
Last week brought us word that Demi Moore was dropping out of the biopic “Lovelace,” possibly due to her recent health issues. After some confusion over which actress named Parker (Sarah Jessica or Mary Louise) was to sign on to the role, it finally became clear that Sarah Jessica Parker would be portraying Gloria Steinem in the film.
One of the other stories we covered last week was about the latest version of “Les Misérables” to come to film. The big names dropping included Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and more. Now news has come that some of the original cast members will appear in the film alongside these big Hollywood names. When the musical first opened in London in 1985, Frances Ruffelle and Colm Wilkinson played the roles of Eponine and Jean Valjean, respectively. In the film version Ruffelle and Wilkinson will have supporting roles. Both actors received Tony nominations for their portrayals on Broadway, with Ruffelle winning the award for Best Featured Actress in a musical.
