Sources say that this is not officially confirmed, but is said to be true: Gary Ross is not returning to direct Catching Fire. Sources went on to say that fans were posting on twitter #wewantgaryross and that it made today’s trending topics.
Some directors who could be taking his place are Steven Soderbergh, who did work as second unit on the first film., Danny Bolye, and Peter Jackson. Other possibilities are David Slade, Rupert Sanders, Debra Granik, and Brad Bird. That’s a lot of talent to choose from, and the list continues with directors like Ridley Scott and Christopher Nolan. There’s a lot of great directors here along with Gary Ross, so I think Catching Fire will get a great director from the looks of things.
