Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a busy man of late, starring on the big screen in the films Brick, 500 Days of Summer and Golden Globe nominated 50/50, among others. Since first coming to our attention as a teenager, in the sitcom Third Rock from the Sun, Gordon-Levitt has been nothing but busy. Now, it looks like he’ll be making he’s feature film directorial debut with a movie that begins production in April. Gordon-Levitt will not only direct, but has written the script and will costar in the film with Scarlett Johansson. Although little is known about the plot, and the film is yet untitled, Gordon-Levitt describes it as “a sexy comedy about a modern day Don Juan, and his quest to become less of a ‘selfish dick.’
Gordon-Levitt has turned in some rather well-reviewed work in front of the camera, and already has some experience directing short films. Several roles in upcoming, high-profile films have allowed him to observe and work with a lot of directing talent. Look for him soon in Spielberg’s Lincoln, the next Batman sequel from Chris Nolan The Dark Knight Rises, and Rian Johnson’s sci-fi debut Looper.
