Author Cormac McCarthy has written several novels that have made their way to film including, No Country for Old Men, The Road and All the Pretty Horses. Last week we heard that he’s released a screenplay called The Counselor, which focuses on a respected lawyer who thinks he can dabble in the drug business without being sucked down. Producer/Director, Ridley Scott is said to be pursuing the script, which has been purchased by the producing team of Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz.
Scott is rather busy at the moment, but it’s thought this project would begin after his work with the Alien sequel Prometheus is finished. Other films on his docket include: the Monopoly movie, The Kind One, a Gucci biopic and a Gertrude Bell biopic.
