Shawn Christensen’s feature film debut Before I Disappear has officially been picked up by IFC Films for North American distribution.
Christensen’s 2012 short film Curfew won the Academy Award for live-action short. It was the basis for Disappear, which picked up the audience award for best narrative feature at SXSW back in March of this year.
The film stars Christensen, Fatima Ptacek, Emmy Rossum, Paul Wesley, and Ron Perlman. It tells the story of Richie (Christensen), a suicidal man who is asked by his estranged sister to look after his niece for a night. The two form a bond as they get to know each other.
The film will show at the Venice International Film Festival in the Venice Days Sidebar before getting its U.S. release in November.
