The Best Films of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival

  1. Mistress America

Mistress America Sundance

Noah Baumbach really loves Greta Gerwig. He loves her so much that she stars in Mistress America playing essentially the same character that she played in Frances Ha. The thing that makes Mistress America different than Frances Ha is that it actually works as a film for everyone regardless of whether you are a hipster or not. I think America has a relatable storyline that most will be able to appreciate and even though Gerwig plays a character very similar to Frances, I think she is more likable in this outing. Mistress America is well crafted, fast-paced, smart, and very funny. There are several scenes throughout the film that will have many laughing out loud for several minutes at end. It is a good mix of indie film wit and quirk but also holds a lot of mainstream charm.
