Check out the trailer for AMI starring Debs Howard
The plot of the film follows a young girl named Cassie (Debs Howard) who comes across a discarded cell phone with the latest artificial intelligence on it called AMI. Cassie customizes the AI to sound like her deceased mother which soon fulfills the void in her life. As their relationship deepens, the nurturing and seemingly caring AI (Bonnie Hay) drives Cassie to perform heinous acts of murder that AMI convinces her are totally justifiable.
While there is no release date set yet, AMI does look promising and could be a unique take on the murder mystery genre. We have seen a lot of smaller indie films tackle genre before and some of them break through to reach a much wider audience. AMI is written and directed by Rusty Nixon who has dabbled in the world of indie horror with previous films including Residue and Candiland. AMI is currently seeking distribution and will hopefully be released sometime in 2019.
