‘Death of Me’ Interview: Darren Lynn Bousman

From the very beginning, Darren Lynn Bousman’s work has continued to impress. He presented his skills at creating intense frights in the SAW franchise, as well as his journey into gruesome tales of music and murder with REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA which was refreshingly original. As a writer and director, Darren continues to expand his vision of horror with unique and fascinating new tales of terror. With his latest, DEATH OF ME, he continues to expand on his cinematic canvas of thrills and chills. In it, Maggie Q and Luke Hemsworth play a vacationing couple who are pulled inside a nightmare, one that seemingly never ends. To get too much into the plot would be a bit of disservice, but it’s a trip this viewer was excited to take.

Recently, we sat down with Darren on Zoom to talk about his latest. During our conversation, he opened up about casting the film, and the surprisingly quick shooting schedule. Darren also chatted about the terrific score and what attracted him to this haunting story. While we are still waiting for his return to SAW with next year’s SPIRAL, the filmmaker also discussed a little something he’s been working on that brings viewers into their own personal scary story. One Day Die is a twisted and immersive horror experience that you can join in on from the comfort of your own home. You can check out more regarding this amazing Halloween event at onedaydie.com. We thank Darren for joining us, and make sure you check out both DEATH OF ME available this week on your favorite streaming service, and of course, One Day Die is sure to be an unforgettable and brilliantly scary adventure.
