There have been a lot of sequels in 2014 thus far. We had the big screen return of Captain America, Spider-Man, and even, the X-Men, but I think one of the most talked about films of the year is arriving this summer. That film is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which is the sequel to the 2011 surprise smash hit, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Late last night, Fox uploaded the final trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to the web just about 3 weeks shy of its release into theaters.
For those who are uncertain as to what Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has in store for us, Fox has been kind enough to provide us with a brief synopsis:
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
The film is directed by Matt Reeves and for those who don’t know that name, Reeves is the director of Cloverfield from 2008. The film’s cast is also pretty solid and includes a mix of A-listers and up and coming stars. The principal cast includes Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, and Kirk Acevedo.
Now, that all that is out of the way be sure to check out all the awesomeness that is the final trailer below:
