The first official trailer for the upcoming sequel to last year’s The Maze Runner has been released.
The film, which is titled Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, features the return of cast members Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee and Patricia Clarkson to the series. New additions to the cast include Rosa Salazar, Jacob Lofland, Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Nathalie Emmanuel and Lili Taylor.

The films are adapted from the popular young-adult book trilogy of the same name, written by James Dashner. The final installment of the book series, The Death Cure, will also be made into a film, set to be released on February 17, 2017.
Wes Ball, director of the previous installment in The Maze Runner series, has helmed The Scorch Trials as well.
The plot of the film is described as follows:
“Thomas (O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.”
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials will hit theaters on September 18, 2015.
