News – Ron Howard To Direct “The Dark Tower”

By Dominic La-Viola

After The Dark Tower project being in the talks for quite some time, Warner Bros. has bought the script from writer Akiva Goldsman. Along with buying the script they are paying Goldsman to touch it up with the intentions of getting the project off the ground. The project was previously at Universal Studios and was in production but was shut down due to budget concerns.

Even with the switch from Universal to Warner Bros., Ron Howard is still set to direct this anticipated film. The main character in the film, Roland Deschain, is to be played by Javier Bardem (Skyfall). There is no word yet if Warner Bros. is going to make a trilogy–as of right now it looks as if they are just trying to sign off on the first film.  Along with there being no word on a sequel to the film, there is also no word on the series, but sources say that it would most likely be HBO to produce the series if one was to be made.
