by Daniel Rester

The Oscar nominations were announced last week, with many surprises and disappointments for some. Congratulations to all of the nominees, as many of them were deserving. However, some snubs disappointed me as a movie lover and awards season fan. Here are my choices for the 10 biggest Oscar nomination snubs of 2012 (with #10 the least disappointing to me to #1 being the most disappointing).

10. Holy Motors for Best Foreign Language Film

9. Wally Pfister for Best Cinematography for The Dark Knight Rises

8. The Master for Best Picture

7. Stephen Chbosky for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Perks of Being a Wallflower

6. Quentin Tarantino for Best Director for Django Unchained

5. Dan Romer and Benh Zeitlin for Music – Original Score for Beasts of the Southern Wild

4. John Hawkes for Best Actor for The Sessions

3. Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained

2. Kathryn Bigelow for Best Director for Zero Dark Thirty

1. Ben Affleck for Best Director for Argo
