PFF 2012: – Latest Updates from the 21st Annual Philadelphia Film Festival

Director David O. Russell now scheduled to appear for sold out opener, Silver Linings Playbook; Directors M. Night Shyamalan & Robert Zemeckis amongst other filmmakers attending the 11-day Festival

The 21st Philadelphia Film Festival, which kicks off this Thursday, October 18 and runs through Sunday, October 28, is excited to welcome a variety of industry guests and add four new films to the 11-day lineup.

The Festival is thrilled to announce that acclaimed Director David O. Russell, Author Matthew Quick, and Producers Donna Gigliotti and Bruce Cohen will be in attendance for the sold out Opening Night screening of Silver Linings Playbook.

In conjunction with the more than 100 feature-length and short films slated in this year’s program are scheduled appearances and post screening discussions with filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan for the 10th Anniversary screening of Signs, Director Jesse James Miller and Boxer Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini for the Friday, October 19 screening of The Good Son, and Director Robert Zemeckis for the Closing Night Film Flight. Miami Connection

Barbara

Set in 1980s East Germany, Barbara depicts the inner conflicts of a young doctor torn between her desire to escape to the West and her developing feelings toward a fellow physician.

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning 3D

An engaging snapshot at a critical time in American history, Hyde Park on Hudson recounts the true story of a pivotal moment in Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s (Bill Murray) relationship with his distant cousin (Laura Linney) during a weekend when the King and Queen of England were visiting the president’s country estate.
