Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, directors of The Lego Movie, are set to helm an upcoming Star Wars Anthology film, which will focus on a young Han Solo.

The film’s script will be written by Lawrence Kasdan, who co-wrote Star Wars: The Force Awakens with J.J. Abrams, and Jon Kasdan.

The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the story, also announced that the Anthology film will be released into theaters on May 25, 2018.

Han Solo was famously played by Harrison Ford in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and the actor will be reprising his role as the character in this December’s The Force Awakens.

On the news, Lord and Miller said, “This is the first film we’ve worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us.”

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, “It’s not just any filmmaker who can tell the story of such a beloved icon like Han Solo, and I’m excited to say we’ve found the perfect team to handle the task. Larry and Jon know all there is to know about the character, and Chris and Phil will bring their wit, style, energy and heart to tell Han’s story.”

Lord and Miller have certainly proven themselves in Hollywood over the past couple of years, making financially successful and critically acclaimed films, from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs to 21 Jump Street. They also have had their hands in a number of television shows, including Clone High, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Last Man on Earth.

The duo is currently working on a ton of film and TV projects; for example, Lord and Miller will executive produce the second season of The Last Man on Earth, write the treatment for DC’s film The Flash, develop an animated Spider-Man film for Sony and produce many of the other upcoming Lego films.

Reports also say that the standalone Star Wars film Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four) was going to direct, before exiting the project in May, is different than this film. That film is rumored to tell the origin story of bounty hunter Boba Fett.
