Perhaps the biggest event at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, the Lucasfilm panel, was held in Hall H today, and the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Force Awakens revealed many interesting tidbits about the upcoming film.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams and The Force Awakens writer Lawrence Kasdan first came out to kick off the panel. After speaking about what they wanted to accomplish and what fans can expect from the film, they showed the crowd a behind-the-scenes reel of the making of the film. While mostly showing off sets, props and effects, actor Simon Pegg popped up during the footage, confirming that he will play a role in the film as an alien. Watch the stunning reel below:

On top of that, they also revealed that the first Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One, will begin shooting with director Gareth Edwards in three weeks.

Cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac were all introduced and brought out, followed by the actors playing characters on the dark side, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Domhnall Gleeson. The following picture of the three was put up on the big screen:

It was also announced that Domhnall Gleeson would be playing General Hux, a character in charge of the First Order base, which is named Starkiller Base. The name Starkiller was the original last name for Luke Skywalker in early drafts of the first Star Wars script.

The crowd was also treated to surprise appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford.

The panel ended with an invitation to a live Star Wars concert for everybody in attendance, and the fans were lead out by Stormtroopers from The Force Awakens.
