Sparkle, starring Jordin Sparks, the late Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, and Cee-Lo Green is opening in theaters on August 17th. It tells the story of a main character named Sparkle (Sparks), who is the youngest of three sisters, and a music prodigy who’s struggling to overcome family issues while pursuing her path to stardom. Sparkle shows how these three sisters grow into a dynamic singing group during the Motown era. Houston plays the sisters’ mother.
