While speaking with Yahoo Movies, director Bryan Singer confirmed that there are potential plans for an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover film.
Singer, who is directing 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, was asked about recent rumors regarding a crossover, while promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut. He then said, “Those ideas are in play. That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”
As far as the films go, X-Men and Fantastic Four supposedly take place in two different universes, which brings into question how a crossover would be handled. Singer didn’t divulge too much information, but he did state, “It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.”
Fantastic Four, which stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, is set to be released on August 7, 2015, while X-Men: Apocalypse is slated to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
