Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers of Friday The 13th and Freddy Vs Jason, are writing a new horror project that is being distributed by Paramount. The title of the film at this time is unknown, along with the storyline. Shannon and Swift are co-directing the film together, which will be their directorial debuts. Even though the pitch was sealed air tight and no deals as far as storyline were released, sources say that the setting is to be in a high school.
Shannon and Swift have written a number of horror scripts; they also have a number of screenplays for comic book films including Hawaiian Dick, Power and Glory. New Line is the company behind the comic book adaptations. One thing I am wondering, along with a lot of other people, is why haven’t they written a script for a Friday The 13th sequel? Freddy Vs Jason wasn’t the most successful or most acclaimed film, but I for one liked it and wish they would have made a sequel for that as well. Along with wanting to see a sequel to the duo’s other screenplays, I am looking forward to seeing this film.
