“AFI Names the 10 Best Films of 2012”

Today, the American Film Institute named the AFI Movies of the Year for the year 2012. These ten films represent what the AFI sees as the most outstanding works of the year in film. Many of the films are also Oscar hopefuls, and will likely get a boost in the awards season after being represented on the list. They are as follows (in alphabetical order):
- Argo
- Beasts of the Southern Wild
- The Dark Knight Rises
- Django Unchained
- Les Miserables
- Life of Pi
- Lincoln
- Moonrise Kingdom
- Silver Linings Playbook
- Zero Dark Thirty
