From producer/director Michael Bay (producer I Am Number Four and director Bad Boys)is teaming up with Platinum Dunes partners to produce the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action film.Along with the producers of the 2007 animated film TMNT. Director Jonathon Liebesman (Wrath Of The Titians) is in the finalizing process to sign as director the film.Although he wasn’t the first director to be considered for the film. In the last few months a couple of names were in consideration, like director Brett Rater (Rush Hour, Tower Heist). Writers of Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol (Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec) are signed to write the script for Paramount pictures.
Paramount has been planning the new live action installment of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since 2009.This is when they first bought the global rights for $60 million. When they bought the rights they were originally going to make a animated Tv series for their Nickelodeon. But do to the unsuccessful Nickelodeon movies, 2004’s The Unfortunate Events and more resent films like Rango the Nickelodeon is no longer in the works.
