At Star Wars Celebration in April, it was revealed at a panel that the first Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One, would center around a group of Resistance fighters who go on a dangerous mission to steal the Death Star plans. Most of the talk at the panel focused on that film, rather than the second Anthology film that had also already been announced.
The film, which is set for a release in 2018, will reportedly tell the origin story of fan favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett. While the report is not 100% confirmed, The Wrap seems very certain that the film will follow the Mandalorian warrior.
Actor Jeremy Bulloch played the character of Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Just a few days ago, Chronicle and Fantastic Four director Josh Trank, dropped out from helming the film after nearly a year of working on it. Disney will most likely make an announcement fairly soon with the news of who will take his place.
On the other hand, Star Wars: Rogue One, which will star Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn and Riz Ahmed, is going to be helmed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwards. The film will also begin production in the summer.
