First X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Shows a World in Danger

X-Men: Apocalypse

The First X-Men Apocalypse Trailer has Arrived!

This morning, 20th Century Fox released the first official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, the upcoming ninth film in the X-Men series. Ever since footage from the film was shown exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con in July, fans have been chomping at the bit to get a glimpse at the newest entry.

The trailer teases numerous new mutants and new actors playing young version of already established mutants in the franchise. Additionally, it sure is awesome to see a quick shot of Quicksilver as he races through the X-Men mansion, using his super speed.

The film’s villain, Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse, looks to be a powerful and more than worthy opponent to the X-Men, who will surely bring about a great deal of destruction. Perhaps the most memorable reveal comes at the end of the trailer when we see Charles with his classic bald head, which Patrick Stewart’s older version of the character is so well-known for having in previous X-Men films.

The plot of X-Men: Apocalypse is described as follows:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Bryan Singer directs X-Men: Apocalypse, which features a cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Oscar Isaac, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and more.
