Sony Pictures has just released the first trailer for Cameron Crowe’s upcoming romantic comedy Aloha.
Check it out below on MOVIECLIPS Trailers:
For the film, Crowe has assembled an extraordinary cast of talented actors, which includes Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel.
According to IMDb, Aloha tells the story of “a celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and re-connects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog assigned to him.”
On the surface, Aloha may sound like your typical run-of-the-mill romantic comedy, but with Crowe directing and writing the project, it is likely to be much more than that.
When it comes to making sweet, heartfelt and sincere films, almost no director is better than Crowe. Crowe has directed such classic films as Jerry Maguire, Say Anything… and Almost Famous, and even wrote 1982’s Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
After directing Elizabethtown in 2005, Crowe took a six-year hiatus from film, only to return in 2011 with the family comedy-drama We Bought a Zoo.
Crowe is also producing the film alongside Scott Rudin, with Columbia Pictures handling distribution of the film domestically and 20th Century Fox handling international distribution.
Two of the film’s stars, Cooper and Stone, just received Oscar nominations for their performances in American Sniper and Birdman, respectively. Both performers have been on a roll over the past few years with the projects they have been choosing, so seeing the two of them team up in Aloha could make for a great film.
Aloha was originally set to come out on December 25, 2014, and was previously known as Deep Tiki and Volcano Romance, but the film was pushed back.
The current release date of the film is May 29, 2015.
