A new report from Joblo, which they say is from a “reliable and proven source,” gives away details on what we can expect from multiple upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Before you read further, keep in mind that SPOILERS for films such as Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange are ahead. If you want to go into any of those films knowing as little as possible, stop reading here.
First up is Ant-Man, which is set to be released on July 17, 2015. The film, which will be the last of Phase Two of the MCU, will be directed by Peyton Reed. Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll will star.
In the film, there will be two major fight sequences between Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. Inside a briefcase that is falling out of a helicopter will be the setting of one fight, while Scott Lang’s daughters’ room will be the setting of the other. During the battle, characters will make certain objects larger while they are shrunk, including a Thomas the Tank Engine train.
Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne will not become The Wasp in the film, but will eventually become the superheroine in a later film.
Now on to Captain America: Civil War. Joblo said the following on the film:
Pretty much every Avengers character that DOESN’T have their own franchise is going to appear in CIVIL WAR. Some we already know about, including Cap (obviously), Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. We can also confirm the recently rumored Scarlet Witch, as well as The Vision, War Machine, and even Ant-Man. The non-hero villains are, as already confirmed, Baron Zemo and Crossbones. Now, our source also indicated that this roster has some wiggle room, so there’s always the chance that a few may be shuffled out at some point, but right now this IS the plan.
The website also said that Black Panther will not be taking a side in the film, at least not in the traditional way, and will instead have his own “agenda.”
Civil War will hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
Lastly, the website also spilled some details on Doctor Strange. Most importantly, the villains in the film will be Dormammu and Baron Mordo. Doctor Strange will also be sporting his usual costume from the comics.
Doctor Strange is set to be released on November 4, 2016.
