First Full-Length “Ant-Man” Trailer Teases Yellowjacket and Thomas the Tank Engine

Marvel has released the first full-length trailer for this summer’s Ant-Man.

Watch the new trailer below:

The film stars Paul Rudd as the title character/Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket/Darren Cross. Other actors in the film include Bobby Cannavale, John Slattery, Hayley Atwell, Judy Greer, Michael Peńa, T.I. and David Dastmalchian.

While the first Ant-Man teaser trailer seemed to get mixed reviews from Marvel fans, this new trailer seems to be receiving much more positive reactions.

The first teaser, released back in January, featured much less humor than most fans were expecting from a film that is as ridiculous on page as Ant-Man. However, this new trailer not only shows us more footage from the film, but also delivers on the humor as well. A bit at the end of the trailer involving a Thomas the Tank Engine set was most certainly a highlight. Comparisons between this film and Marvel’s 2014 comedy-action film Guardians of the Galaxy have already begun.

Also seen in the trailer are fights between Ant-Man and the villainous Yellowjacket, and Lang shrinking down in his suit and running with fellow ants.

Overall, Ant-Man looks like it will be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Peyton Reed took over as director of the film after Edgar Wright left the project last year. In the past, Reed has directed such comedies as The Break-Up, Yes Man and Bring It On.

Both Rudd and Adam McKay worked on the screenplay together, with Wright and Joe Cornish coming up with the story for the film.

The film’s plot is described as follows:

Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
