The new full-length trailer for Brad Bird’s upcoming Disney film Tomorrowland has hit the web.
Tomorrowland stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, Judy Greer, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn and Keegan-Michael Key, and was scripted by both Bird and Damon Lindelof.
Ever since the project was announced, details about the film have been largely kept a secret. Even after viewing the first teaser trailer and Super Bowl teaser, the film’s plot still remained a mystery.
This new trailer gives us a much better idea of what we can expect to see when Tomorrowland comes to theaters this year on May 22.
Watch the trailer below:
The trailer shows off the film’s impressive visual effects, and introduces us to the world we can expect to see in Tomorrowland. Although the trailer reveals a bit more of the plot, it seems that the filmmakers are hoping to give away as little as possible, so that moviegoers are genuinely surprised by what they see on screen when they go to see the film.
In the past, Bird has helmed such critically acclaimed and universally loved films as The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, Ratatouille and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Tomorrowland has potential to live up to Bird’s other films, and may very well end up a being an extremely memorable moviegoing experience.
A general summary of the film can be found in the description section of the trailer, and reads as follows:
“From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as Tomorrowland. What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.”
