The Good Place “Leap Into Faith” Review

FINALLY! I’m so happy to see The Good Place has returned to NBC! It felt like so long. That being said, they came back with a BANG. When Michael’s boss Shawn returns to The Good Place, Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Jason (Manny Jacinto), and Tehani (Jameela Jamil) are left wondering which side he is on and what they should do. With Janet being disabled by Shawn, the group has no way of knowing what to do or what is the truth. In a turn of events, they choose to trust Michael (Ted Danson) has their best interests at heart. Will this choice turn out to send them directly to The Real Bad Place? Meanwhile, while Shawn is there, the group is being ridiculed and even ends up being roasted by Michael in front of the whole town. Vicky doesn’t seem to trust Michael and is suspicious of his plan.

I swear, this show hardly misses a beat. It is quick witty and hilarious, filled with moments of real emotion. The sense of humor in the show is ridiculously fun and has something for everyone. When they are partying and playing Puddle of Mud “She Hates Me” and “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” I couldn’t stop laughing.

The writing in the show continues to be spot on and keeps the audience engaged. Each story arc sends us in a different direction, not knowing where the characters and story will end up next. Despite feeling like we know these characters very well, we are still learning more about them as the show progresses.

Each episode develops the characters and puts them in new and unexpected situations. Not knowing where the show is going continues to bring viewers back week after week. Check out The Good Place on NBC on Thursdays at 8:30 P.M.
