Ashley Menzel: Now You See Me 2 (9/10)
The intertwining of wonderful storytelling, incredible actors and acting, and exceptional visual effects makes Now You See Me 2 one of the best films this year, and one of the greatest sequels of all time.
Austin Putnam: Now You See Me 2 (5.5/10)
I found Now You See Me to be a fun magician crime thriller film. Nothing more. This is one of those films I don’t think anyone asked for a sequel to be made, but got one anyway. Even though I’m surprised Now You See Me 2 kept the sense of fun that the first one had, I felt like I saw the same film as the first. Just a few things changed and new nooks and crannies.
Craig Kandiko: Now You See Me 2 (8/10)
Now You See Me 2 may not be as strong of a movie as its predecessor, but it doesn’t make it any less fun and entertaining. The returning cast does a great job with their performances and Lizzy Caplan adds to the comedy and charm. The story was good and kept me guessing up into the very end. If you love heist movies like Ocean’s Eleven and enjoyed the first movie, then Now You See Me 2 is worth checking out.
Zachary Marsh: Now You See Me 2 (7/10)
If you enjoyed the first movie, chances are you’ll enjoy this one too. The amount of enjoyment you get from this one, though, depends on your palette, tastes, and subjective opinions. Personally, I found most of the acting to be fun, the action entertaining, the visuals outstanding, and the story as good as it could have been. For a movie that runs over two hours, I was pleasantly surprised that I never felt the length of it all as it moves at an incredibly well and solid pace. It doesn’t quite live up to the first film in terms of suspense, adventure, and overall entertainment, but it’s easy to see that the people involved with these films are having a fun time performing magic tricks, both within the narrative and in the post-production team members. As far as sequels go, this could have been much worse. “Now You See Me 2” is an entertaining, well-paced and fun little caper that, while has apparent flaws and is inferior to its predecessor, still manages to recreate some of the magical sparks that made the first one so great in the first place.
Chad Gleason: Now You See Me 2 (2/10)
Now You see me gets two out of 10 for me one of the biggest disappointments of the year. This movie should not really exist. I really despise the whole experience and I feel like I’m being punished for loving the first film so much. I wish more films that I truly loved were failures of the box office so we wouldn’t get these shameless pointless cash grab sequels in the future. One of the worst experiences this year for me. No joke.
