The Worst Superheroes Ever Assemble in New Suicide Squad Trailer

Ever since the first trailer for DC’s Suicide Squad saw its release at last July’s San Diego Comic-Con, fans have been looking forward to even more footage of the “Worst Superheroes Ever.” Lucky for them, as part of DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, a special that aired on The CW on Tuesday that explored the upcoming films of the DC Extended Universe, a second trailer for Suicide Squad was unveiled.

This new trailer, which is set to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” seems to give all of the film’s major characters time to shine. To start off, Margot Robbie looks perfect in her role as Harley Quinn; from cracking jokes to breaking windows, Robbie is certainly one of the trailer’s standouts.

Jared Leto’s Joker, of course, pops up in the trailer for a brief amount of time and says the line, “I can’t wait to show you my toys.” He is also featured in one of the footage’s best shots, which shows him laying down in the middle of a sea of weapons.

To be fair, however, between Robbie, Leto, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Will Smith as Deadshot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, there doesn’t seem to be a weak link in the film’s cast. Everyone appears to have fully committed themselves to their characters, no matter how off-the wall-crazy they may be.

Overall, the trailer has a bit of a lighter, more humorous tone then the previous one; considering that DC’s first entry into their universe, Man of Steel, has often been criticized for being largely “humorless,” this is a much-welcomed change-up.

Suicide Squad is due out on August 5, 2016 and is set to be the first DC Extended Universe film to be released after March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
