The first trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (kind of a clever switch from usual titles) inspires much confidence they are going to continue the Wreck-It Ralph fun.
The original animated film about an arcade video-game villain – who begins to question who he is and his purpose, ultimately deciding he wants to be the hero instead — became a surprise hit in 2012. With the wonderful vocal talent of John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman, who plays Vanellope, a former video game star-turned-glitch in the system, Wreck-It Ralph offered a lot of heart in all the fun action as Ralph goes through other video games to achieve his goal.
In Wreck-It Ralph 2, it looks like he and Vanellope are still good friends but that they don’t have as much to do anymore since their arcade is empty. Little do they know that everyone plays games online now. So when the owner comes in and plugs into a Wi-Fi router, Vanellope jumps on in, dragging Ralph with her, and the two leave Litwak’s Family Fun Center and Arcade and enter the wacky worldwide web, aka the Internet, in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush.
Naturally, all that the Internet has to offer fascinates and overwhelms Ralph, including seeing the very haunting black velvet painting of a “Sorrowful Kitten” being sold on eBay. The last part of the trailer, though, will have you in stitches. A little girl is playing a game in the car on her iPad, feeding pancakes to a rabbit and milkshakes to a cat. Ralph and Vanellope get involved and, well, let’s just say it doesn’t end well for the rabbit.

The movie also stars other famous cameo voices, including Kristen Bell as Frozen‘s Anna and Idina Menzel as Elsa, Kelly Macdonald as Brave‘s Merida, Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, and Mandy Moore as Tangled‘s Rapunzel (guessing Ralph runs into a Disney princess-type game).
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opens Thanksgiving weekend, and you can bet it’s going to be another sure-fire hit.
