The Good Place “Team Cockroach” Review
In this episode of The Good Place, we see the group debating on whether or not they should join with Michael and work together. The most apprehensive of the bunch is, of course, Eleanor who has difficulty trusting anyone. She is suspicious of Michael’s real intentions behind wanting to team up with the group. As the episode progresses, she learns what she must do. While she feels as though she’s only known Chidi for a short amount of time, she knows deep down that they have a connection. The team spends most of the episode asking Michael questions to try to see if he is trying to lie to them or trick them. Jason of course spends most of the episode spouting out ridiculous comments, but as usual, serves as a great comedic break from tension.
In a surprising turn of events, we get to finally find out how Tahani died and it doesn’t disappoint. It is really both entertaining and incredibly embarrassing for her. Because Tahani can’t believe that she really ended up in The Bad Place, Michael shows her the way that she died to show how genuinely selfish she was. She finally realizes why she is in The Bad Place.

The group needs to decide whether they should trust Michael when he says he won’t erase their memories or to take their chances with trying to figure everything out all over again. This episode is a particularly interesting one because it changes the whole dynamic of the show. WIth Michael and Eleanor, Chidi, Jason, and Tahani all on the same team, it will be a significant change for the show. It sets up an interesting dynamic and puts Vicky (Tiya Sircar) in a more prominent role in the Bad Place. I am interested to see where they take the story and the characters in this next story arc. The Good Place always manages to take the story in directions that we don’t expect. This next story arc is sure to surprise, entertain, and excite audiences. This is what makes The Good Place one of the best comedies on television today.
