The Flash “Enter Zoom” Review by Kevin Morrison : Zoom is here and he’s REALLY bad…

Barry finally gets to meet Zoom from Earth 2 in this episode and thus, so do we-and he’s REALLY scary. A cross between Bane and Michael Myers, Zoom is our worst nightmare and definitely the toughest, most fearful villain Team Flash has encounter so far. This is what the last few episodes have been leading up to and the show does not disappoint.

After defeating Earth-2’s Dr. Light last week, Barry gets the idea to use this Earth’s counterpart to lure Zoom into Earth-1 to stop him once and for all. Along the way, we get to learn more about Dr. Harrison Wells of Earth-2 and find out that he is more sympathetic that you would think.

Both of these things are what make up this week’s episode and both are certainly more than enough. Seeing Zoom defeat and beat…and beat…and beat up again Barry Allen is heart-wrenching and tough. He’s definitely someone that can’t be taken down easily and you can hear and feel the hearts of fans everywhere pounding as this happens. I give the creators and writers of this show a TON of credit for Zoom, he really delivered and I can’t wait for the upcoming weeks for the re-matchs and see how (if) they defeat him.

The story part of this episode actually relies on Dr. Harrison Wells, surprisingly. With the Earth-2 Wells in this universe, nobody trusts him-and neither did we, up until a great reveal in this episode where we find out that Zoom is holding Well’s daughter hostage and it’s up to him to figure out a way to stop him in order to rescue her. This is what led him to Barry and the team and this story arc is introduced really well. You feel sorry for Wells and instantly understand his stern and tough demeanor around everyone, and more importantly know that it’s not because he’s secretly evil…but rather, a man.

This episode really delivers and set-ups the stage for what the rest of Season 2 will hopefully be like: an amazing thrill-ride with our favorite characters. I can’t say much more until the next few weeks, but I can say that the show definitely has me hooked from now on.

-Barry can’t feel his legs! Whoa! I wonder if he’s gonna be able to function quickly or if his legs are out for the rest of the season.

-Cisco/Vibe is growing on me, mostly cause he’s being more serious. I like this Vibe.
-Seriously, Patty is the cutest. I love this addition to the show!
-Props to Tom Cavanagh for Dr. Wells. Very good actor!
