What Happened in Hall H on Friday at SDCC?

There were a few panels today in Hall H and here’s what you need to know from each one:

Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog Reunion

Joss Whedon revealed that he has created a Dr. Horrible one-shot.

Fear the Walking Dead

The panelists discussed the show, filming, and a very funny story about an actress from the show going to the bank in full makeup and she didn’t understand why they wouldn’t give her the checks she needed.

The Walking Dead

This coming season will be the last for fan favorite, Andrew Lincoln.

Star Trek: Discovery

The panelists discussed the importance of diversity in all aspects on the show and what that means to them. We will see Dr. Spock in the upcoming season.

Trailer Park

We saw trailers for Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, Bumblebee, Mary Poppins Returns, Darkest Minds, Castle Rock, How to Train Your Dragon 3, and more. The highlight for me was actually How to Train Your Dragon 3 and the little mall commercial from the creators of Stranger Things.

Universal’s Glass and Halloween

M. Night Shyamalan, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson, and Anya Taylor-Joy were present at the panel to discuss the film and reveal some footage. James McAvoy was too ill to attend the panel. We got to see a new trailer and it looks fantastic.

During Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis dropped some information about why she chose to return to this character. She expressed the importance of the story and the character owning her narrative. She also had a very heartfelt moment with a fan who revealed that he is alive today because of watching her in Halloween.

The panel opened with a musical performance by Stan Bush playing “Touch.” Travis Knight, John Cena, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. came to Hall H to answer questions from fans and reveal some new footage from the upcoming film. Travis Knight got into a lot of detail on the animation of the characters. We even were treated with a fan question from the original voice of Optimus Prime.

Sony Pictures’ Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

The Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse panel revealed some footage and talked about creating the film and casting the actors.

A very excited Hall H greeted Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, and Ruben Fleischer.  They played some new footage, handed out some great Venom masks and ended Hall H on a high note for Friday.
