San Diego Comic Con:
13 Things That Will Be Awesome!
San Diego Comic Con is an exciting time of the year and one of the biggest comic conventions around. The sheer amount of people that descent upon downtown San Diego is incredible, but what makes Comic Con so memorable are some of the amazing panels that happen there. These are 13 things that are sure to make San Diego Comic Con 2016 AWESOME!
#13 The Vampire Diaries Panel
It is rumored that the upcoming season will be the last of the series, and the fact that former cast member Nina Dobrev is returning to the show could prove to be an interesting Comic Con Panel. It also could be announced officially that it is the final season at the convention. We will all have to wait and see.
#12 Once Upon a Time
The Once Upon a Time panel is always super fun. It is moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown who is as big of a fan of the show as the audience members. She always brings a fun and lively presence to the panel. It is always really fun and exciting to see. I can’t wait to see the panel this year.
#11 Anything Goes with John Barrowman
I attended this panel for the first time last year and it really is “anything goes.” There’s singing, dancing, audience questions, sexual innuendos and all around fun. John Barrowman is a wonderful showman and loves his fans. This panel just highlights that and is a total blast to attend.
#10 WB Pilots
Warner Bros is really dominating the convention across both TV and film. They are playing pilot episodes of four new shows at the convention on Wednesday night. The pilots are: Riverdale, Powerless, People of Earth and Frequency. Pilots are always fun to watch and get a great idea of what the next season of fall shows will be like.
#9 Game of Thrones
While I don’t watch the show, the Game of Thrones panel is always huge and a big event for the fans. This year should be no different especially with the fans stuck in waiting for a long time for the next season and the recent announcement that it has been delayed as well. Hopefully they bring something to the convention to help the fans suffer from GoT withdrawal.
#8 iZombie
iZombie is one of my absolute favorite shows and the panel last year was a ton of fun. The cast has such great chemistry and really are a ton of fun to watch interact. The last season ended on a huge cliff hanger and potentially something that could shift the entire focus of the show. Maybe during the panel we will get a sneak peak at what is to come.
#7 Grimm
Another one of my favorite shows, Grimm has a lot going for it. There is history, fantasy, folklore, and more. The stories are so interesting and compelling and the actors are great. This season is sure to start out where the finale left us hanging and hopefully we will see a clip of something to expect in the coming season.
#6 TV Guide Fan Favorites
This event is always a great deal of fun. Basically what happens during this panel is that random actors appear from the shows that are already at Comic Con. The combination of people and shows are always really fun and entertaining. It is always one of the funniest panels at Comic Con and this year will be no different. Last year saw Norman Reedus, Maisie Williams, Eliza Taylor, Ming-Na Wen, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Yvette Nicole Brown and David Anders. It is sure to be fun!
#5 WB Superhero Shows
This year Warner Bros is really dominating the convention in a lot of ways. In addition to their film presence, they will have panels for their superhero shows including The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. These shows have a pretty big following and the actors have tons of charisma and really love their fans. These panels will undoubtedly be memorable.
#4 Supernatural
Last year’s Supernatural panel involved a fan giving out small electric tea lights to help Jared Padalecki know that his fans are behind him and his Always Keep Fighting movement. It was truly a sight to be seen with the tea lights lighting up Hall H. Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Mark A. Sheppard are always a blast together. Having filmed 10 seasons together, they really are like brothers and it is really a treat to attend their panel.
#3 Snowden
While some may not agree that Snowden has a place at Comic Con, I think that it will be an incredibly interesting panel with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Oliver Stone, Zachary Quinto and Scott Eastwood. We are going to get to see never before seen footage and get to have a conversation with the incredible Oliver Stone.
#2 Warner Bros Upcoming Films
The Warner Bros Panel will be EPIC. The only information we are given is “a sneak peak at upcoming releases,” and those are some epic upcoming releases. We are likely to see footage from Suicide Squad, Justice League, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Kong: Skull Island, Wonder Woman, and probably even be surprised by the first trailers or peaks of films they haven’t even shown anything about. This is the panel to see at Comic Con.
#1 Star Trek Beyond Premiere
Talk about the best place to premiere a film. Star Trek Beyond is going to premiere at San Diego Comic Con on Wednesday July 20th at the Embarcadero Marina Park in IMAX. This will be the first ever outdoor IMAX event. We will also see the cast and crew as well as a live performance by the San Diego symphony orchestra.
