I feel like I keep highlighting stuff from Netflix, but seriously, they keep churning out some great material and attracting some amazing talent. Case in point, Steve Martin and Martin Short are bringing their current comedy tour to the streaming network.
Martin made the announcement Tuesday on social media with a short video about the comedy special on Netflix – and you can see exactly what you’re in for. Yes, I’ll be tuning in, thank you very much because I adore these two men immensely.
Okey dokey. Here’s a video with Marty and me talking about our new Netflix special coming this summer! Now we’re like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle except for the pay! pic.twitter.com/zd4hd1kQ74

Favorite part? “When did you get Netflix, Steve?” “Oh, I think I was about 5.” LMAO.
The tour called Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life (which tells you a lot right there about how funny it must be) has been traveling around the country. The two old friends have known and worked with each other for three decades, including on Saturday Night Live and their movie Three Amigos (with Chevy Chase), and their comedy show includes a mixture of musical sketches and conversations about their careers in both stand-up and TV.
It also features music from Grammy-winning bluegrass band the Steep Canyon Rangers and jazz pianist/Jimmy Kimmel Live! band member Jeff Babko. It was executive produced by Martin, Short, Lorne Michaels, Erin David and Marc Gurvitz. The Netflix special was taped last Friday at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C.
Quick side note about Steve Martin. I was pretty obsessed with him when I was younger. I listened to his comedy albums over and over and perfected some of his routines. I even did a “Steve Martin” impersonation sketch in a high-school talent show. I didn’t win BUT I felt very satisfied I honored his comedic style. In my professional career, I have yet to speak with him directly, and while I know he’s not big on when fans gush, I’d have to. I’d embarrass myself. So there.
